We have all seen the Iron Man movies and have wondered what it would be like to have our own personal Iron Man 3D TV, with the ability to pull images into midair and control them on a 3D scale. What many don’t realize is that the ability is already on the market in wearable AR glasses, but, even better, how about the ability to do so on your TV without glasses? Co-founder of Emotiv Systems Inc, set his sights on bringing Augmented Reality to our Televisions. The device called InAIR, which is set to cost $99, works by plugging directly into any television through its “smart” HDMI cable which then connects to a set top box. The device then pulls data from the currently playing television program or movie, analyzes it using natural language processing and other patented technologies, and presents related content pulled directly from the web and social media on the television screen. The user interacts with InAIR by using a simple mobile application or with gesture control through devices like the leap motion. Nam Do, the Co-founder and CEO of SeeSpace, agreed to sit down with me last Friday over a cup of coffee at the relaxing Sight Glass Coffee shop on 7th street in San Francisco, CA.
