Lenovo on Thursday announced two new compelling Android products during the IFA trade show in Berlin, including the Vibe X smartphone and the S5000 tablet.
The Vibe X is built out of polycarbonate and has a laser-engraved finish. It sports a 5-inch “20/20 Vision” display with a full 1920 x 1080-pixel resolution, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 13-megapixel rear camera, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, a quad-core MTK 6589T processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and support for HSPA+ networks. It will make its debut in China this Oct. and will be sold in other Lenovo smartphone markets starting in Dec., though it will never launch in Europe, Lenovo said. It’s unclear of the cost.
Meanwhile, the S5000 tablet runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is equipped with a Media Tek 8389 quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 5-megapixel camera, a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera, a USB port, support for HSPA+ connectivity, a large 3,450mAh battery and a 7-inch display with a 1280 x 800-pixel resolution. It weighs just 0.54 pounds and measures 7.9mm thick. Lenovo said the S5000 will be available during the fourth quarter of this year, though did not name any launch markets. This also does not have a price.
