Surprising no one, Google will apparently introduce an app store optimized for Google Glass when the wearable technology officially launches next year. According to an apparent confirmation by Google to Marketing Land, the store, which was inadvertently outed in a Glass software update earlier this summer, will act similarly to other app stores, giving users access to different experiences based on categories, etc. The earlier leak categorized Glass’ store as “Boutique,” though it’s unclear if that name will be used once it officially goes live.
Aside from being able to easily snap pictures, take video, and get directions, Glass will need to have a compelling marketplace in order for consumers to see the gadget’s value. Tech Lyfe does not have Google Glass yet, but am quite excited about all the new wearable tech coming out. When more news about Glass’ upcoming Boutique store comes out, Be sure of an update.
